We design, build, and install architectural joinery for kitchens, living spaces, bathrooms, and bedrooms. Working with discerning homeowners, architects, builders, and interior designers, we create beautifully crafted joinery attuned to each individual and the way they want to live.

We choose only the best-quality European fixtures and fittings and Australian-made board. All cabinetry is manufactured in our Melbourne workshop using precision CNC machinery by our team of craftsmen.

The Team

The Kurv team transforms design visions into luxury joinery with precision and attention to detail.

Chris James, the founder of Kurv Living, has been a cabinet and furniture maker for more than 20 years. Detailed joinery has always been his passion, and this focus on quality and the intricate details is instilled in every Kurv employee.

The Kurv team consists of a project manager, workshop manager, three workshop staff, two installers, a detailer, an apprentice and Chris. With this skilled team, Kurv is attuned to executing intricate details with a strong personal service as well having the capacity to easily complete full house and multiple dwelling or commercial projects.

We believe the only way to deliver a finished project that’s attuned to the space and the people living in it, is to work together and collaborate on the end result. Our team brings its years of experience, specialist knowledge and up-to-date skills to solve design challenges and create aspirational spaces.

Chris believes strongly in passing on his expertise to the next generation and has worked with MEGT and its apprenticeship scheme. Kurv is a member of the Australian Cabinet and Furniture Association.

Our Process

At Kurv, we believe successful projects start with exceptional planning.

We take time to understand your needs and align them with practical timelines and budgets. Chris is involved at every stage, ready to answer questions and provide updates. We collaborate with architects, builders, and designers to ensure your joinery is thoughtfully planned and beautifully executed.

Design Consultation

Projects begin with a design meeting with Chris, you, and your architect or builder – either on-site or at our Bayswater office. We guide colour and material choices, suggest solutions for design challenges, or work with with the professional drawings supplied by the designer or architect.

Check Measure

We carry out a detailed check measure and refine plans to suit site conditions. With years of manufacturing experience, we anticipate potential challenges and resolve them early in design and production. Shop drawings are then prepared for approval by both the client and the architect or builder.

Manufacture

Our craftsmen build with precision, supported by strict quality-control process. We stay in close contact with the build team to ensure everything runs on schedule and coordinate with other trades for a seamless result.

Installation

Our specialist installation team manages every detail. All joinery is quality-checked in our factory before delivery. On-site, our installers work efficiently and respectfully, taking care of walls, floors, and finishes. We leave the space clean and tidy.

HANDOVER

Once installed, we fine-tune hinges, slides, and fittings for perfect operation. Every project is backed by our standard workmanship warranty and manufacturer warranties on specialist hardware.
